  • Registered Dental Hygienist

    ADC is a nonprofit dental clinic with a mission to increase access to the uninsured and underinsured populations.  We aim to address health equity concerns, improve health outcomes, eliminate barriers to access, and make a positive impact through our unwavering commitment to awareness, education, direct service, patient advocacy, and community engagement throughout Dane County and southern Wisconsin.


    The ideal candidate will be part of a team that offers a safe and supportive environment while providing the highest quality dental care to the uninsured and underinsured. 


    We are the only dental clinic in Madison that does not take any type of insurance rather every patient pays reduced fees out of pocket. None of our fees for service are processed through insurance companies.  


    Job Responsibilities

    • Perform patient screening such as health history review, blood pressure and pulse check and extraoral and intraoral exam including oral cancer and anomaly detection
    • Take diagnostic quality x-rays
    • Record periodontal, dental, and treatment charting
    • Locate all subgingival and supragingival calculus deposits
    • Determine periodontal assessment
    • Provide complete biofilm and calculus removal
    • Apply preventive agents, sealants, and fluoride treatment
    • Provide patient education on periodontal diseases and appropriate oral hygiene
    • Provide nutritional counseling based on caries risk
    • Treat periodontal disease
    • Apply topical anesthetics
    • Administer local anesthetic injections
    • Prepare dental equipment and instruments
    • Manage dental anxiety appropriately
    • Complete other duties as assigned

    Requirements

    • Associate degree or advanced degree in dental hygiene 
    • State certification/license as required to work as a dental hygienist
    • Local anesthetic certification
    • CPR certification (can be completed during employment and reimbursement is available if training has not been completed) 

    Qualifications

    • Strong commitment to patient care, patient health and quality work
    • Excellent overall working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening and medical history documentation
    • Committed to being a contributing member of a team
    • Ability to establish good patient relationships and rapport by creating a safe, effective, and supportive environment
    • Comfortable with periodontal therapy
    • Laser certified (preferred, but not required)
    • Dentrix software experience (preferred, but not required)
    • Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred, but not required)

    Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time Available

    Salary: $70,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year (based on experience)
